The large-scaled project to finance three new bronze bells for the Dillenburg church tower of the protestant congregation I have now been accompanying on a voluntary basis since 2021. The money will soon be collected and the first bell can be cast in October. The highlight of this fundraising project for me is the opportunity to “grace” the three bells, which weigh several tons, with the support of the bell team of the congregation and experts from the Evangelical Church of Hesse-Nassau. Hanns Martin Rincker, senior boss of the Rincker foundry in Sinn, which has been in family ownership since 1590, yesterday applied the first decorations in wax according to my designs. The next step is to apply layers of clay in stages. After drying, the wax is melted out, leaving behind the negative mold, which is then used for casting.
